Stopped in around 6, the after work crowd filled the room, so we bellied up to the bar. The bartender was so friendly, super efficient and very attentive. We ordered the BBQ Shrimp appetizer to share and it was Ah-mazing! Fabulous taste, perfectly cooked shrimp and the dipping bread, the best in Maine! They have a full bar, excellent Pinot Grigio, small dining area, clean restrooms. We'll be back!

Our family of 3 went for dinner last night and it was spectacular food and service. I would highly recommend, this is the best restaurant in Bangor.

What a gem! The Butcher The Baker has such a cute, quaint vibe: a perfect blend of brick charm and modern rustic design that makes you feel instantly cozy.
The chicken and waffles were absolutely delicious, the perfect balance of salty and sweet! My husband (on a die hard carnivore diet) went for the 12 oz New York strip and it was top-notch, cooked to medium-rare perfection. The use of compound butter and tallow oil was one of the reasons why wanted to try them, something we rarely see when dining out. Using healthy, natural ingredients is hard to find!
The cocktails were fantastic too. Their bar is fully stocked and clearly skilled. They can make anything you’d want, but I highly recommend the Spicy Mother-in-Law. I’m a big fan of a spicy margarita, and this was a delicious twist!
Service was wonderful from start to finish. You can tell this place takes pride in both food and hospitality. We can’t wait to come back on our next visit to Bangor, highly recommend!

Wonderful atmosphere, friendly stuff and delicious meals makes this restaurant a must visit when in Bangor. I tried the fried chicken and waffles while my wife went for an Italian dish. The mushroom appetizer dish was also excellent!

I will be dreaming of this meal for months. If you are ever in the area, please do yourself a favor and give The Butcher The Baker a try. My partner and I came for our anniversary dinner while traveling to Bangor. Service was amazing, the staff was super pleasant, the restaurant was clean with a good atmosphere, and the food was BEYOND delicious! We ordered the Korean BBQ Wings for an appetizer (which were hands down the best wings either of us had ever had, with HUGE portions and delicious, crispy chicken), the Drunken Noodles, and Chicken and Waffles. Every single thing we tried was absolutely delicious. I am a french fry connoisseur, so I had to order a side of fries, and I was met with a huge portion of deliciously crispy fries salted to perfection (for only $5!). I cannot stress enough how incredible this dining experience was, probably in the top few dinners I have ever had the pleasure of enjoying! I can’t wait to come back.

This gem of a place was an absolute delight. We sat at the bar and our bartender (I think Brian was his name)) was simply the best. He and the entire staff were welcoming and friendly. The restaurant was clean and cozy.
He explained us the drinks and a lot of them were intriguing. The drinks we ordered were simply the best. We had Cheech & Ching and
Hot Dirty Pickle.
He also explained us different appetizers and mains. The food was out of the world. This elevated American food is a must try. Pork Belly was mind blowing and so was the Schnitzlenator. We shared both appetizer and Mains.
Now, we wanted to try dessert. They were out of ice cream but had last scoop left that they offered us to try. The ice cream was Banana Curry and it was sooooo delicious. I wish they had more available. We ordered Sweet Potato Cake with Cinnamon butter cream. It was light, most, and not overly sweet. It was surprisingly super delicious dessert.
We highly recommend this restaurant whether you are a local or visiting. We will definitely return for another meal ☺️

I ordered the Drunken Noodles. It was awesome but be careful with that one if you are sensitive to spicy food. My wife went with the Chicken & Waffles and could not stop raving about how good it was. The bar drinks were very good as well. Really nice place, I love these old downtown Bangor buildings. So much character. The space is a little loud because of the brick walls and wood floor, but not too bad. On street parking was fairly easy to find on Columbia St. we got there early (about 5:00) so we did not have to wait at all to be seated. Glad we decided to try it. Will definitely be back.

Great service, and wonder food. I had New York strip with frites, my wife had lobster and scallop risotto. They had a drink special, Butter my Biscuit, a brown butter fat washed old fashioned. It was one of the best drinks I have had.

I have been wanting to check this place out since they opened and I finally did. They surpassed my expectations. It was definitely a dining experience not to be missed out on. I ordered an island punch drink. If you like spicy you will love it. Gives a little tingle to the lips. I also ordered the tacos birria and the drunken noodles. Very generous portions. Fast, friendly, and attentive service. They got me seated right away even though they were busy. Stellar food and service! It's going to be a new favorite place for me to go and treat myself.

I ordered the Spicy Peanut Chicken Pot pie and my husband ordered Shrimp and pork belly over Drunken Noodles.
Though we do not have dietary restrictions, the restaurant’s effort to accommodate them was noted.
